of reporting, a written Suspected Child Abuse Report should be submitted online at lacdcfs.org or

Files special immigrant juvenile status with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

on behalf of eligible DCFS undocumented, unmarried youth under age 21, who are a court

dependent, eligible for long term foster care and deemed unable to return to their country of origin.

These youth are then able to obtain a permanent resident „green card‰; receive DCFS Youth

Development Services; and live, study and work legally in the United States. Referrals are usually

made by DCFS, but can also be submitted by the foster parent, child, attorney, school personnel

eligibility. Services include hygiene facilities; hot meals; linkages to permanent housing,

A comprehensive educational program for adults and credit-deficient high school students.

Applicants under

age 18 must have a referral from their high school counselor and be within two months of their

18th birthday or second semester seniors who will not graduate. Concurrent high school/LBSA

enrollment is also permitted. Enrolling students must score at least at the ninth grade reading level

on the TABE assessment, or they will be referred to the Literacy Center for remediation before

beginning to earn high school credits. Graduation requirements are similar to those of a

comprehensive high school. Students must maintain 80% attendance in teacher-directed classes

and complete at least 10 credits at LBSA. FEE: $20 materials fee, no charge for basic education
